SLJ’s Battle of the Kids’ Books: the Trailer

From

They’re back. Lauren Downey (above left) and Summer Ogata, aka the Everdeen Sisters, have created a video “trailer” for School Library Journal‘s Battle of the Kids’ Books (BOB) 2012.

The two YA lit fans have produced a BOB video each year since the annual event began in 2009. Their first production, “Now or Never,” gained a huge following among librarians, with one suggesting that someone give the now 25-year-olds scholarships to library school.

In BOB, 16 of the best books for young people face off in a winner-take-all battle beginning March 13. A panel of 15 judges—including Lauren Myracle, Matt Phelan, and Maggie Stiefvater—decide the titles that advance to the next round, à la March Madness. Jonathan Stroud, last year’s BOB winner for The Ring of Solomon (Hyperion), will choose the grand prize winner April 2.
