Google Now Allows Alerts for Books

Users can now set up a Google Alert for books and automatically receive an email about recently published items in Google Books that match the alert.

According to a blog post by Xinxing Gu, Google Books associate product manager, a user goes to Google Alerts and types in keywords about the book (e.g., title or author name) and then chooses “Books” from the Type drop-down menu, and then hits “create alert.”
